It’s entirely possible that Stan Kohl will go into the holiday season as the Guinness World Record holder for the most Christmas tree stands. He began collecting the stands almost by chance, taking five from the estate of his late aunt at the urging of a cousin. 14 years and many eBay visits later, he now has 1198, and all but 50 are hanging in his Christmas Shoppe near Washingtonville.
