About Us

SECV8 originated as CCN, Community Cable Network, a local origination television station. Established in 1991 and part of the CATV Service, Inc. cable channel lineup, CCN was designed to bring its viewers exclusive local original programming.

 The first programming to air on CCN was a local high school football game in the fall of 1991. As local viewer interest increased, coverage was expanded into other types of sporting events, including wrestling, soccer, and basketball.

 To further its local community coverage, CCN also began televising local community festivals, such as the Milton Harvest Festival, Warrior Run Heritage Days, the Danville Iron Heritage Festival and the Lewisburg Veteran’s Parade. Other events include both singing and instrumental concerts.

 Continuing with its dedication to the community, CCN also produced a television show called “In Your Neighborhood.” It is a television news magazine featuring the people, places, organizations and businesses of the Central Susquehanna Valley and Northeast Anthracite Region.

 In 2013, CATV Service, Inc. was purchased by Service Electric Cablevision, essentially expanding our coverage area from four school districts to fourteen school districts. Soon after, CCN was re-branded to “SECV8.” Continuing with its dedication to the community, SECV8 covers more sporting and community events like the “Valley’s Got Talent” during the Sunbury River Festival, the Shamokin 150 year parade, as well as field hockey and now volleyball.

 In 2018 SECV8 began live broadcasting their sports and community events in high definition as well as making these broadcasts available in the SECV On Demand library. They have also added new local origination shows including Catching Up with Carl and The Sports Beat. SECV customers that have TiVo stream are also able to watch SECV8 live when out of their home with the SECV TiVo Stream app.
